Plans, administers, and coordinates occupational therapy treatments to patients from all age groups in order to maximize their potential physical functioning. Assists in managing daily operations of the department. Contributes to the development of policies, setting of standards, and revision of procedures as needed. Works closely with family members to assure achievement of goals and continuity of care. Provides timely documentation of patient’s progress, reassesses and modifies goals and treatments as needed. Supervises and assists with evaluating support personnel, ie COTA’s and department office staff.
Primary duty of performing work requiring knowledge of an advanced type in a filed of science or learning customarily acquired by a prolonged course of specialized intellectual instruction.
Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Program. B.S. degree minimum.
Prefer 1 to 2 years of staff OT experience. Desirable characteristics include proficiency in written and verbal communication, proficiency with computerized documentation, and the ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with the public. Experience in treating patients in an inpatient Psychiatric setting is preferred.
Licensed or eligible for license in New Mexico.
