Job Description

Under the direction of the CFO, provides leadership and supervision to the Patient Access Manager regarding all job functions of the Patient Access Department. Communicates with all departments of the hospital to ensure successful operations interdepartmentally. Promotes and sets expectations for excellent customer service within the Patient Access Department.  Works closely with clinical and ancillary departments to promote teamwork and positive patient encounters.  Works with PAM to ensure productivity and quality standards are met in registration, insurance verification, scheduling and financial counseling operations.  Possesses aptitude for research.  Knowledge of payer and CMS rules/guidelines. Bachelor’s degree in healthcare related field desirable or equivalent level of education and job experience. Ten years experience in a hospital business office, data processing, information systems or registration setting with a minimum of 3 years supervisory experience is preferred. Must possess good computer skills with a flexible schedule. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
