Job Description

This position is responsible for the accurate assistance of pharmacists in providing pharmaceutical care to both in-patients and out-patients. Computer entry and processing of patient drug orders; sterile and non-sterile preparations of liquids and solid dosage forms; care and ordering of supplies and equipment; training of trainees; processing of admittance, discharge and transfer of patient drugs; performing miscellaneous related tasks.

  • Must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent and be a certified pharmacy technician as recognized by the New Mexico State Board of Pharmacy. 
  • Desirable characteristics include a proficiency in written and verbal communications, mathematical calculations, computer literate, possess ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and perform within allotted time frame without loss of accuracy. Must be able to follow directions and to perform work according to department standards. Must be emotionally mature and able to function effectively under stress.
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT), New Mexico Board of Pharmacy licensure, successful completion of an approved Compounded Sterile Products Training course.
