Job Description

This is NOT a remote position.  Position is based in Roswell, New Mexico, USA.

Business Systems Analyst supports and solves organizational information problems and requirements by analyzing requirements; designing computer programs; recommending system controls and protocols.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Determines operational objectives by studying business functions; gathering information; evaluating output requirements and formats.
  • Designs new computer programs by analyzing requirements; constructing workflow charts and diagrams; studying system capabilities; writing specifications.
  • Improves systems by studying current practices; designing modifications.
  • Recommends controls by identifying problems; writing improved procedures.
  • Defines project requirements by identifying project milestones, phases, and elements; forming project teams; establishing project budget.
  • Monitors project progress by tracking activity; resolving problems; publishing progress reports; recommending actions.
  • Maintains system protocols by writing and updating procedures.
  • Provides references for users by writing and maintaining user documentation; providing help desk support; training users.
  • Maintains user confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Prepares technical reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Manages IT projects such as, but not limited to, acquisitions, new construction, vendor contracts and software installations & upgrades as needed.
  • Communicates effectively with a variety of stakeholders to define accurate specs for project planning and implementation.
  • Proactively manages potential impediments to project completion; escalates potential issues with proposed plans to maintain the integrity of project goals and timelines.
  • Facilitates go-live support and turnover of project to standard operations.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; and participating in professional societies.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Performs other job duties relevant to the position as assigned.


Education & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, 


  • An Associates degree in related field with 2 years of additional experience can be substituted for a Bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum of 3 years of Business Systems Analyst or similar.
  • Experience with EHRs, EMRs, Clinical Workflows, HL7 interfaces, SQL queries (or other reporting software).
  • Strong problem-solving skills that logically solve business or technology based problems.
  • Familiarity with operating systems/applications (AS/400, HMS, Cerner, etc.).
  • The role requires strong analytical skills to design, test, and analyze reports.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem resolution skills.
  • Ability to work on and prioritize multiple, concurrent problems and projects while meeting aggressive deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively under supervision of the IT Director and Team Leader.
  • Ability to drive to assigned sites to complete work.
  • The Project Manager experience is a Plus.
