Key responsibilities of this role include:

  • The Physical Therapist Assistant is responsible for administering physical therapy modalities of treatment under the plan of care of a licensed Physical Therapist.
  • This is performed to assist each patient to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities.
  • Assists in exercise instruction and demonstration, patient evaluation and testing.
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Performs a variety of tasks.

Key qualifications to be considered for this include:

  • May be a new graduate, but prefer one (1) to two (2) years of staff PTA experience.

  • Desirable skills include proficiency in written and verbal communication, proficiency with computerized documentation, and the ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with the public.

  • Required Education: Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program. Associates or Bachelors Degree Preferred.

  • Required License: New Mexico Physical Therapy Assistant.

  • Required Certification: BLS.
